20 years was a good run. Like all good things, the Block Party has come to an end. Right now, the resources to produce it aren't there.
We hope this makes room for something new.
If you want to see what's next downtown, visit DowntownGreeley.com and MoxiTheater.com, come to the 16th Street Ribbon Cutting on September 18th. That's where we hope to pass the torch, whether it's the seed of the next Block Party or something else entirely.
The first Block Party hit 16th Street in 2006. A group of volunteers from Atlas Church wanted to give UNC students a proper welcome back and connect them with the shops, neighbors, and music scene of downtown Greeley. Year one drew thousands of people to 35 bands across four stages.
In 2013, the year the Moxi Theater opened downtown, the party moved from 16th Street to 9th Street Plaza. From 2013 through 2025, the DDA and Friday Fest made it possible with staging, sound, and production support. BandWagon Magazine and the Moxi Theater produced it throughout.
At its peak, the Block Party ran six stages across seven downtown venues, hosted 25+ acts in a single evening, and pulled in the UNC Marching Band to open the night. Free, all ages, and the Bears' unofficial homecoming.
Past headliners include Tickle Me Pink, Churchill, Neyla Pekarek, Wildermiss, Air Dubai, Gramatik, INTHEWHALE, Hypnotic Vibes, Silver & Gold, 888, The Epilogues, My Body Sings Electric, Graham Good & The Painters, David Ramirez, The Burroughs, Grady Spencer & the Work, and Tyler Halverson.
